About Our Academy

SAMSS teaches Indian classical music and Anapanasati meditation to anyone interested in learning music. Both the sciences are taught and practiced hand in hand. Equal importance is given to the Lakshya Sādhana (practical) and Lakshana Sādhana (theoretical) of both music and meditation. This will instill strong roots of both the sciences in the individual and shapes him/her up as a musician and a spiritual scientist. Only then can the musician reach the balanced and blissful state of the “Yoga sthithi” and become an “Enlightened Musician”. This state of an individual helps in living the life with full contentment and happiness.

Music is within you

Truth is within everyone. This is the inner sound or the vibration. To discover one’s inner vibration and to truly feel the greatness of this inner sound, one must empty the mind. This can be achieved through these simple three steps.

1. Silence your mind

The first step is to develop a very strong self-awareness and mindfulness in oneself. This is possible through the sincere practice of meditation. In breath observation meditation, one becomes empty-minded and delves deep into the inner awareness which helps to travel inside. 

2. Realise the musical sound inside you

By practicing to realize the nādam vibrating inside one’s body, the awareness of this sound increases. Once you do that, it will be far more easier to go into meditation further, which in turn increases the awareness of the inner vibration.

3. Celebrate the music of the Soul

When mind and intellect mutes with meditation and “nada”, one’s true self emerges and that is your SOUL. It is the consciousness. As one starts experiencing the inner vibration more and more, one will start celebrating this music for the first time .. music of the “Soul”. One will go into “flow” .. not realizing the time and space, and simply gets absorbed into the ecstasy of this music of the soul. One knows and recognizes the “right” music instantly, and aligns towards it naturally, which further helps him/her realize this music of the soul more deeply. The more ecstatic one is, the more energy is radiated to the field around, .. touching everyone on the planet.
